The rest of the summer

Here are some photos and video of the rest of the summer in Shimonoseki (before my trip home):

Photos and video of a conference I did with Angie. These teachers got really into the games we were showing them!

This is Angie's "Grab the Bacon" game (some of the teachers were almost tackling each other!):

On Justin's last night in Japan a bunch of us were wandering the wharf and found a huge group of gaijin. We found out that they were a choir from Israel. There were about 40 girls (and 1 boy) aged 12-18 and a group of chaperones who also sang with them. They gave us a little concert on the wharf, then invited us to come light off fireworks with them.

You can't see much in this video because it's night, but you can hear them singing:

Later on we took the 10 or so chaperones to our favourite little hole-in-the wall bar/karaoke place, Latin Quarter. They sang some karaoke, and also entertained the very surprised bar patrons with some acapella singing.

THE BIG RED BUS: from London to Shimonoseki

There are lots of strangely british things going on this year in Shimonoseki to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the former British Consulate

Me, Angie, Becky, and Louise, the newest addition to Shimonoseki.

THE GREATEST DISCOVERY OF THE SUMMER

Just past these rice paddies lies...

A gorgeous beach!
I can't believe we didn't find it sooner! After much interrogation of my supervisor about all the beaches in the area accessible by bus, Becky, Louise and I trecked out to this one, 45 minutes on the bus, then hitchhiking the last 2km past the rice paddies.
