The mascot of Sapporo? These things were everywhere.Day 1:

Odori Park in Sapporo

The snowboard jump that they built right in the middle of the park.

Antarctica sea voyage (The dogs in the middle of this sculpture are the dogs that live on the boat)
close-up of the Antarctica sculpture

It's like Christmas all over again! Only this time with snow.
Fighters (Sapporo's baseball team)
Day 2: Skiing at Niseko
The top of the ski mountain
The view
Otaru City by Night

Ice Sculptures in Sapporo

Mmm, fish on ice.
Having a drink at the Bailey's Ice House
The HAJET enkai

4L of beer, right on our table!
I think the vegetarians got a way better deal at the enkai than everyone else. The meat-eaters just got lamb and cabbage to barbecue, we got about 7 different courses! Here's the mushroom tempura.
Drunk Chris (wearing his plastic bib as a hat), and glam-looking Anita escorting him onto the train.Day 4: Leaving
The last day was a national holiday, so there was a mass exodus to the airport, making for extremely crowded travel.

Haha, look at Anita (The blob in the middle, on the tray table). Labels: hokkaido, otaru, sapporo, snow festival, yuki matsuri
